Continue Supporting Strong Economic Development

Brook Park is on the move. With several unique and generational opportunities at hand, we need representation that has a track record of delivering results.

Thomas W. Dufour has been a tireless advocate for economic development as an At-Large member of City Council

As an At-Large City Councilman, Thomas W. Dufour has been a tireless advocate for smart growth, business revitalization, and a stronger local economy in the City of Brook Park. In his first term, Councilman Dufour worked to support the groundwork for a new era of investment and opportunity. Now, he’s running for re-election to continue delivering results.

Building Up Main Street and Local Business

Thomas worked alongside Mayor Orcutt and Councilman Mencini to introduce the Storefront Targeted Area Redevelopment (STAR) Program, a bold initiative dedicating $500,000 in strategic investment to revitalize storefronts in our commercial districts and support existing business while beautifying our city. STAR isn’t just about buildings—it’s about creating opportunity, accelerating investment, and building up our community.

Putting Brook Park in the Game

Recognizing Brook Park’s unmatched potential as a hub for regional development, Councilman Dufour introduced a resolution encouraging the Cleveland Browns to invest over $4 billion in a state-of-the-art domed stadium and mixed-use district right here in our city. This generational effort could generate jobs, transform our tax base, and redefine Brook Park’s place in Northeast Ohio while transforming our regional economy.

To ensure Brook Park is ready for such transformational investment, Dufour voted in favor of retaining Bricker Graydon LLP—a premier municipal legal firm—to help draft and negotiate future development plans, ensuring our community’s interests are protected and prioritized every step of the way.

Supporting Smart, Strategic Development

In his first term, Councilman Dufour voted to approve:

  • A new senior medical facility, ArchWell Health, expanding care options for our senior population.

  • A self-serve auto repair facility on Eastland Road, supporting both small business growth and DIY car owners.

  • Lot consolidation for a new Dunkin’ Donuts on Brookpark Road, bringing convenience to a highly trafficked corridor.

  • Purchasing and demolishing the former BP on the corner of Smith and Snow, removing an eyesore and readying the corner for new development in 2029.

At the same time, he took a stand for responsible zoning by voting to restrict the overdevelopment of vape shops and car washes that don’t serve the long-term vision for our city.

Leading on Clean Energy Infrastructure

Councilman Dufour also introduced Brook Park’s first legislation to regulate and promote electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, ensuring that as the auto industry evolves, Brook Park is ready to lead—not follow.

Brook Park’s future is on the rise—but it needs leaders with vision, determination, and results. Re-elect Thomas W. Dufour for City Council At-Large and let’s continue building a stronger, smarter, and more prosperous Brook Park—together.
