Supporting our Seniors

Councilman Dufour believes in the generational pact to provide and maintain high quality services for Brook Park seniors.

Thomas W. Dufour works hard to support Brook Park’s seniors

Councilman Thomas W. Dufour believes that a community is only as strong as how it treats its seniors. From access to healthcare to mobility and dignity, he has made supporting Brook Park’s senior residents a core part of his work on City Council.

Expanding Senior Healthcare Access

Thomas voted to approve a conditional use permit for ArchWell Health, a new senior-focused medical facility now operating in Brook Park. This addition expands access to high-quality care and wellness services specifically designed to meet the needs of our aging population—right here in our own community.

Protecting Accessibility and Respect

Understanding the importance of accessibility and the need to enforce it, Councilman Dufour authored legislation to increase penalties on those who abuse handicapped parking spaces. This law helps ensure that individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges have the access they deserve, and that violations are taken seriously.

Improving Senior Transportation

Transportation is vital to keeping seniors active, independent, and connected. Thomas voted to approve funding for a new van dedicated to senior transportation, providing a safer and more accessible option for getting around town.

Councilman Dufour is committed to building a city where seniors can thrive—not just get by. With your support, he’ll continue championing initiatives that prioritize health, respect, and independence for Brook Park’s older adults.
