Invest in Parks and Recreation

Parks and community spaces are one of the things that keep our city strong. Thomas W. Dufour is focused on maintaining them.

Parks and recreation are the heart of a strong community — and Councilman Thomas W. Dufour has been a consistent advocate for protecting and improving Brook Park’s green spaces for all residents to enjoy.

Supporting Long-Overdue Investments

For years, Brook Park’s recreational facilities had patchwork repairs and deferred maintenance. Councilman Dufour voted to allocate funding to finally fix our main recreation center’s roof and structural walls, ensuring that residents can enjoy a safe and functional community hub for generations to come.

Revitalizing Our Neighborhood Parks

Councilman Dufour also voted to accept a grant to redevelop Carpenter Park, one of our community’s well-loved but underutilized spaces. He also supported additional funding to improve Wedo Park, enhancing its appeal as a destination for families, kids, and neighbors to gather and play.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Access to Nature

Brook Park has untapped potential when it comes to connecting more residents with regional green space. That’s why Thomas has explored with the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Metroparks about expanding Metroparks access within our borders, bringing trails, nature, and recreation closer to home.

From major facility upgrades to future-forward park planning, Councilman Dufour is working to make sure every family in Brook Park has access to safe, beautiful, and vibrant places to enjoy the outdoors. Re-elect Thomas W. Dufour and let’s keep our parks growing strong.
